Handing Over Ceremony 2025–2026: A New Term Begins

On June 29, 2025, the Rotaract Club of Aley proudly held its annual Handing Over Ceremony, a momentous occasion that has become a cornerstone in the club’s calendar. More than just a formal transfer of responsibilities, this gathering served as a celebration of achievements, teamwork, and the promise of a new year filled with service and growth.

Hosted at Blue RestoPub in Raj Hotel-Aley, the evening carried both elegance and warmth, with a sweet touch from Misteka Sweets, who delighted guests with their signature desserts. A special thanks goes to Piece of Cake, who sponsored the main cake of the event for the third year in a row, adding a centerpiece that was as beautiful as it was delicious. The setting reflected the spirit of the club itself: professional yet welcoming, ambitious yet deeply rooted in community.

A Look Back with Gratitude

The event began with heartfelt words from Outgoing President Mira El Ammoury. In her speech, she expressed gratitude for the commitment and energy that defined the 2024–2025 term. Mira highlighted the many meaningful projects carried out under her leadership, acknowledging the dedication of both the Board and Committee Directors whose work left a lasting impact on the community. Her message was met with warm applause, as members and guests celebrated a year of service well led. With dignity and emotion, she then passed the gavel to Incoming President Stephany Said,symbolizing both continuity and renewal.

A Vision for the Future

Taking the stage with confidence,President Stephany Said introduced the theme for the new term: “Prove and Improve.” She explained that this guiding principle reflects the importance of demonstrating skills through action while continuously striving for growth.It is a call to accountability, learning, teamwork, and above all, raising the standard of service. Her vision for 2025–2026 resonated strongly with the audience, who responded with optimism and excitement for what lies ahead.

Behind the Ceremony

The success of the Handing Over Ceremony was the result of careful preparation that spanned seven weeks,beginning on May 10. The planning was led by Immediate Past President Mira El Ammoury, President Stephany Said, and Public Image Director Amir Moadad, whose efforts were supported by a dedicated committee including Bahaa Hilal, Elissar Ezzeddine, Karim Timani, Mira Ammouri, Nathalie Fakhreddine, Sarjoun Shehayeb,and Amir Moadad.

A special recognition was given to Elissar Ezzeddine and Sarjoun Shehayeb, who played leading roles in driving the event’s success. Their contributions, alongside the tireless work of the entire team, ensured that every detail was carefully executed.

Transition of Leadership

At the heart of the ceremony was the official introduction of the new Board and Committee Directors. The smooth transition reflected the spirit of continuity and growth that defines Rotaract.

The presidency passed from Mira El Ammoury to Stephany Said. The vice presidency transitioned from Jana Said to Nathalie Fakhreddine. The role of secretary was handed from Nathalie Fakhreddine to Sarjoun Shehayeb, while the treasury moved from Karim Timani to Bahaa Hilal. The sergeant at arms position shifted from Raghida Morshed to Karim Timani, and the role of mentor from Stephany Said to Elissar Ezzeddine.Meanwhile, the position of past president moved from Elissar Ezzeddine to Mira El Ammoury, and the consultancy role held by Ragheb El Ammouri now remains vacant.

Committee leadership also saw new appointments. Community Service was entrusted from Karine Hilal to YasminaAzzam, while Professional Development transitioned from Bahaa Hilal to KarineHilal. International Understanding moved from Simar Ghaida to Assil Ghoubar,and Finance shifted from Yasmina Azzam to Alia Jdaydani. Club Service was passed from Sarjoun Shehayeb to Karim Timani, while the Social Media Committee transitioned from Cynthia Faysal to Nour Masri. Public Image remained in thecapable hands of Amir Moadad, who will continue his work in this vital role.

By the Numbers

The success of the past term is not just measured in events held, but in the tangible impact on the community. The 2024–2025 year concluded with impressive metrics, showcasing the dedication of the outgoing team. A remarkable 7,939 total smiles were generated through various initiatives. The club fostered collaboration by working with 27 NGOs and securing partnerships with 45 sponsors. Their digital reach was also significant, achieving 9,257 accounts reached and a total of 44,905 views across social media platforms, alongside 6 flags exchanged internationally. Looking at service, the five main committees delivered a total of 73 projects: Community Service led the way with 22 projects, followed by Club Service with 19, Professional Development with 15, International Services with 13, and Finance with 4. These figures underscore a year of profound service, collaboration, and wide-reaching influence.

The Rotaract Club of Aley extended heartfelt thanks to Blue Resto Pub, Raj Hotel, Misteka Sweets, and Piece of Cake for their valued support. Their contributions added richness to the evening and helped shape it into the memorable event it became.

Equally, the club expressed gratitude to every member, guest, Rotarian, and friend who attended and shared in the spirit of service. With a new team, a new theme, and a united spirit,the 2025–2026 term begins with determination and hope. As President Stephany Said reminded everyone: this is a year to prove, to improve, and to serve together.
