Each year on Mother’s Day, Rotaract Aley honors a tradition that’s more than just a project—it’s a commitment to compassion. Care Beyond Time, our annual visit to the Helmouna Elderly Center in Bzebdine, continues to be one of the most heartfelt events in our calendar.
With the generous sponsorship of Gift of Life, we brought carefully prepared hygiene kits to support the center’s residents—items that are simple yet essential, and often overlooked in under-resourced facilities. But what we truly delivered went far beyond materials—it was emotional care, presence, and love.
Many elderly individuals in our region face loneliness and a lack of support, especially in their later years. Through this visit, we sought to remind them that they are seen, heard, and deeply valued. Our members spent time listening to their stories, laughing, singing, and dancing with them—creating a joyful atmosphere filled with connection and warmth.
This initiative touches on several Rotary Areas of Focus:
The visit is more than a one-time gesture—it’s a signature annual tradition of our club, designed to build lasting relationships and offer our members a meaningful way to give back. With each return, we are greeted not as visitors, but as familiar friends. That continuity makes each year more special than the last.
A sincere thank you goes to Karine Ichtay, our Community Service Director, whose compassionate leadership and coordination ensured every detail of the visit was handled with care and respect. Her dedication helps sustain this beautiful legacy of empathy and shared humanity.
In a world moving ever faster, Care Beyond Time is a reminder of what truly matters: connection, dignity, and kindness across generations.
