Christmas Visit

On December 25th, the Rotaract Club of Aley embraced the true spirit of the season by spending a magical day with the children of Shemlan Orphanage Center. Through a collaborative effort led by Community Service Director Karine Ichtay, 12 of our dedicated members worked together to bring smiles, laughter, and love to 60 children who deserve to feel special during the holidays.

The day was filled with festive cheer—music, dancing, face painting, and lively games filled every corner of the orphanage. Each activity was carefully planned to suit the children’s different age groups, ensuring everyone could take part in the fun. One of the most touching moments came when Santa Claus—played by one of our members—surprised the children with personalized gift-giving, turning the day into a memory they’ll cherish for years to come.

This project wasn’t just about celebration. It was about inclusion, kindness, and making sure no child feels forgotten during a time that can often be difficult for those without families. The generosity of Madame Lina Chehayeb, founder of Gift of Life, made this event possible by providing the funds needed to purchase gifts and supplies.

As a signature initiative of our club, the Christmas Visit is part of our ongoing mission to Extend Legacies through meaningful community service. It stands as a beautiful tradition—one that reinforces the importance of compassion, connection, and creating joyful experiences for the most vulnerable.

By showing up for these children, we not only brought happiness into their lives but also strengthened our commitment to building a more caring and united community. This wasn’t just a visit—it was a celebration of love, service, and the enduring magic of Christmas.
