Link and Lead

With road accidents remaining a tragic reality across Lebanon—especially among youth—Rotaract Aley launched Link and Lead, a professional development initiative aimed at addressing this critical issue head-on. In collaboration with YASA (Youth Association for Safety Awareness), the project educated attendees on safe driving, responsible behavior, and the real-life consequences of reckless road habits.

Seventeen attendees joined the session, including club members, guests, and past presidents from Rotary and Interact—highlighting cross-generational support for safer roads. Through practical advice and impactful storytelling, the speaker from YASA covered key topics such as:

The event went beyond theory—delivering actionable knowledge that participants can apply daily, whether behind the wheel or as advocates for road safety in their communities. A certificate of appreciation was presented to the speaker in recognition of their commitment and impactful contribution to this cause.

Link and Lead aligns deeply with the Rotary focus areas of Peacebuilding and Disease Prevention, by tackling road-related violence and promoting injury prevention. Moreover, it reflects our vision of Extending Legacies, as the behaviors and values taught in this session—like respect for traffic laws and prioritizing safety—can shape a safer, more responsible generation.

We extend sincere thanks to Bahaa Hilal, our Professional Development Director, whose strategic planning, collaboration, and leadership brought this project to life. With initiatives like Link and Lead, he continues to shape not only our members—but the broader road to community well-being.

Because saving lives starts with awareness—and awareness begins with leadership.
