At the heart of true service lies innovation, and our ongoing Racycle initiative is a shining example of that. In one of its latest chapters, our community came together to transform 3 tons of recyclable materials into something far more valuable than waste—a functional wheelchair for an individual in need.
This project wasn’t just about recycling; it was about restoring independence, dignity, and mobility to someone who lacked the means to access essential support. By addressing both environmental sustainability and disability inclusion, the impact reached far beyond the recipient—it became a model of what’s possible when compassion meets creativity.
Carried out with the invaluable collaboration of AIM Academy and Go Green, the project gathered momentum through thoughtful planning and shared purpose. Together, we raised awareness, collected recyclable materials, and turned a community effort into a life-changing reality.
This initiative directly supports two Rotary Areas of Focus:
Though it directly supported one individual, the ripple effect of this action touches many—reminding us all of the power of purpose-driven change.
As a signature project under the Racycle umbrella, this effort is a proud example of Extending Legacies. It continues our long-term mission of blending sustainability with social responsibility, reinforcing our dedication to helping both people and the planet.
We extend our gratitude to Karine Ichtay ,the director of the Community Committee, whose steadfast leadership and commitment were instrumental in bringing this project to life. Their role in guiding this effort truly reflects the values we uphold and the future we’re building—together.
