In the face of Lebanon’s ongoing economic crisis, access to basic hygiene supplies has become a luxury for many. Recognizing this urgent need, the Rotaract Club of Aley joined hands with Gift of Life to launch a deeply impactful community service initiative focused on delivering essential hygiene products to the most vulnerable.
The project, led by our Community Service Director Karine Ichtay, supported families and individuals in Al Mar2a El Derziyye and Tofel El Saeed, two communities hit hard by the crisis. With the generous donation of products by Gift of Life, our team of 8 dedicated members helped pack and distribute vital items including sanitary pads, diapers, dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.
The distribution included:
This effort addressed multiple Rotary Areas of Focus, including Disease Prevention and Treatment, Maternal and Child Health, and Economic and Community Development. Each product delivered was more than a necessity—it was a symbol of dignity and care for families struggling to meet their basic needs.
Beyond logistics, the project also reflected the power of partnerships. Together with Gift of Life and other NGOs, we coordinated a smooth collection and distribution process, ensuring that no community was left behind. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to Extending Legacies—providing humanitarian support that responds to real, immediate needs while reinforcing our long-standing mission of service.
As we continue to stand by our communities during difficult times, we’re reminded that service doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s a box of everyday essentials, delivered with love and respect, that can make the biggest difference.
