“Take Your Mind on a Date” has become more than just an annual event for the Rotaract Club of Aley, it’s a cherished tradition. First launched in RY 2021–2022, the project aims to build meaningful bonds between members by creating space for open conversation, active listening, and thoughtful sharing.
This year, the project took on a romantic twist with a Valentine’s-themed edition, held at Blue Resto-Lounge, a cozy venue decorated with heart-shaped balloons and a warm ambiance. True to the spirit of surprise, names were drawn in advance and members were paired randomly. Each duo sat together for dinner, guided by the “Spin the Wheel” app, which generated deep, reflective questions inspired by the “Free IC” prompts created by Rotaract Mediterranean and Europe.
The night was filled with laughter, connection, and vulnerability. As conversations unfolded, members shared personal stories, values, and dreams, forming deeper bonds beyond routine meetings and projects.
To add a heartfelt touch, a gift exchange was introduced, with each person preparing a small, meaningful item for their partner. From handwritten notes to handmade tokens, the gifts reflected thoughtfulness rather than material value, adding a layer of sincerity to the evening.
This project is a beautiful example of how Extending Legacies can be rooted in emotional intelligence and human connection. It continues to grow in relevance each year by adapting while staying true to its mission: to remind us that empathy and genuine conversation are at the heart of strong Rotaract clubs.
