To mark Lebanon’s Independence Day, the Rotaract Club of Aley brought together national pride and international friendship with a lively and educational event: “Under The Cedars” Trivia Night. Organized through a collaboration between the Club Service and International Understanding Committees, this virtual quiz night offered a fun, interactive way for Rotaractors to celebrate Lebanese heritage—while connecting with one another across borders.
Held on Friday, November 22nd via Zoom, the event featured a Kahoot quiz of nearly 80 questions covering Lebanon’s history, culture, geography, and independence milestones. Participants, including 24 members and 5 guests from the Aley club, were joined by 12 international Rotaractors, creating a truly global celebration of Lebanon’s national day.
The event was spearheaded by Club Service Director Sarjoun Chehayeb, with key coordination from the International Understanding Committee. Together, they planned a quiz that was not only challenging but deeply meaningful, reinforcing cultural knowledge while offering a fresh and fun experience for all.
In true Rotaract spirit, prizes were awarded to the top three winners—special surprises from our local fundraiser Shop aal Lebnene, adding a unique and patriotic touch to the rewards. Participants were asked to register in advance and prepare two devices to ensure smooth engagement in the virtual format.
More than just a game night, Under The Cedars was an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and educate, all in one inspiring evening. It served as a reminder of the power of culture to unite people, and how events like these help Extend Legacies—by fostering pride, building friendships, and keeping our national stories alive within the global Rotaract family.
As we continue to celebrate Lebanon’s resilience and rich heritage, we are proud to have created a space where fun met purpose, and where every participant walked away with more knowledge, stronger bonds, and unforgettable memories.
