United by Love

On Valentine’s Day 2025, the Rotaract Club of Aley reminded the world that love knows no borders. Through our project United by Love, we embraced the power of language to connect hearts across cultures. This initiative, crafted entirely by our own members, showcased 17 Rotaractors expressing the phrase “I love you” in 16 different languages—including sign language—in a moving video that reached nearly 3,000 viewers on Instagram.

The project was inspired by the Rotaract Mediterranean theme, “Unity in Diversity,” and aimed to promote peace, inclusion, and cultural appreciation. With flags and subtitles included in the final edit, each expression of love was more than just words—it was a tribute to the people and places behind them.

Led by our passionate members and planned entirely in-house, the process involved selecting 15 countries, translating the phrase, and learning how to say it in sign language. Each member chose the language they wanted to represent, recorded their part, and helped bring the final video to life. The result was not only visually powerful, but deeply meaningful—an expression of our belief that love, in all its forms, can unify.

This project is part of our ongoing commitment to celebrating international occasions and extending the legacy of our club. It also served as a moment to recognize the dedication of our members, who continue to pour their energy into meaningful initiatives that connect communities and celebrate humanity.

As we reflect on the warmth this project generated, we’re proud to say that United by Love was more than just a Valentine’s Day tribute—it was a celebration of inclusion, culture, and the simple but universal message of love.
